Big Mac Advertising Production Ltd was established in 2000. Just two years ago, Mr. Stanley Chen, managing director of Big Mac saw a growing market for other types of gifts and premiums, and the result was a new independent company – miniyou - that focused on polyresin figurines. With several years of experience in image & graphic design already in place at the time of Big Mac's establishment, the transition to include fresh designs in the production process was an advantage.
Determined not to simply follow trends, Big Mac aims for fresh designs. Two in-house designers, based in Hong Kong, handle most of the design work, getting their inspiration from magazines and trade fairs, while a team of 10 at the mainland factory provides design back-up by focusing on molding & painting techniques. All of miniyou polyresin figurines are handmade and hand-painted. Workers at its factories in Dongguang city in the Mainland China are trained to work on individual parts of a product only. Only very experienced artists get to handle the eyes and lips. Sample models are put on the production line and inspectors regularly inspect products on line.
The polyresin figurines are selling well in Asia, USA, and Europe but this company is about to expand its horizons. This will, however, mean creating a complete new line, for higher-quality and higher-standard products made of polyresin. Our current product line is only for decoration but now we want to look at making products that are more useful. Photo frame, polyresin LED lights, piggy bank, music boxes and various containers are just a few items that Big Mac is looking to produce. Design ideas have been in the works.
